# How to use the Upsell.com banner widget | Shopify

The **Banner** widget allows you to easily add a banner to any page in your store- this banner can be used to make any announcement or warning to your customers.

### Adding the widget

1. In the [Upsell.com Editor](https://help.upsell.com/en/article/how-to-use-the-upsellcom-editor-shopify-wcligf/) click **Add widget**

**You can add the text widget in one of 2 ways:**

* As a standalone widget, by clicking the button at the **bottom of the page**
* Inside another widget, by clicking the button at the **bottom of the top level widget**

2. Click **Banner** in the widgets selector:

3. In the widget settings, you can edit the following options for your banner:

* Banner status- informational/warning/success/critical
* Dismissible banner
* Banner title
* Banner description
* Collapsible banner description
* Button settings- add/remove a button from the widget and control it's actions and design

4. When you're ready, click **Save**

5. To add your widget to the desired location in your store, make sure to [place your slot in the Shopify editor](/en/article/how-to-place-slots-in-the-shopify-editor-8qknth/)
