# How to show star ratings on your Upsell.com offers

Social proof converts. You can display star ratings from Judge.me, Loox, or Shopify product rating metafields on your Upsell.com offer widgets so shoppers see trust signals where they decide to buy more.

## What you can do

- Connect **Loox** (recommended), **Judge.me**, or a **Rating metafield** (standard Shopify review metafields or your own custom metafields)
- Show stars on **product upsell**, **product recommendations**, and **bundle** widgets
- Use social proof on the **Product page**, **Cart page**, **Cart drawer**, **Post-purchase**, and **Thank you** page
- Customize **star color**, **layout**, whether to **show the amount of reviews**, and the **reviews label**

## How to set it up

### 1. Choose your review source in Settings

1. Open the Upsell.com app and go to **Settings**.
2. Find **Star rating app integration**.
3. Open the **Star rating app** dropdown and choose one of:
   - **None**
   - **Loox** (Recommended)
   - **Judge.me**
   - **Rating metafield**
4. If you choose **Judge.me** and it is not installed yet, follow the prompt to install and set up Judge.me from the Shopify App Store.
5. If you choose **Rating metafield**, use the **Review count metafield** dropdown to pick the metafield you want (for example a standard Shopify reviews metafield, or a custom one you created).
6. Click **Save**.

### 2. Turn on star ratings in your widget

1. Open your **Flows** dashboard and click **Edit** on the page you want (for example Product page, Cart, Cart drawer, Post-purchase, or Thank you).
2. Click **Edit** on the widget that should show ratings (for example **Product upsell**).
3. In the left menu of the widget editor, click **Star rating**.

### 3. Customize how ratings look

1. In the right panel, confirm the rating source (you can override Loox, Judge.me, or Rating metafield for this widget).
2. Set **Star color** (hex code, for example `#FFCA32`).
3. Choose a **Layout** (for example Minimalistic).
4. Optionally enable **Show amount of reviews** and set the **Reviews label** (for example “Reviews).
5. Click **Save**, then preview your storefront to confirm stars appear on the offer.

## Using other review apps via metafields

Named integrations include **Loox** and **Judge.me**, plus **Rating metafield**.

If you use another third-party review app, Upsell.com can still show stars when that app writes a Shopify product metafield of type **rating**. Choose **Rating metafield** in Settings and map the field under **Review count metafield**.

## Tips

- Match star color and labels to your storefront so the offer feels native.
- Prefer the same rating source shoppers already see on your product page.
- Check each funnel page separately if you show offers on more than one step.
